SEO: What is it and how does it work?

Nowadays there are more and more websites being created, making it harder for your target audience to find your site easily, but this is why Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is important. Thankfully search engines have become so accurate that more than 90% of us use them to find what we want instead of just browsing around. We all know that, depending on the keywords we type, search engines return a list of sites sorted by relevance. Now, 89% of us only click results displayed on the 1st page. If what we are looking for is not there, we just readjust the keywords to perform a new search. Even more interesting, 77% of clicks happen on the top 3 results (usually, right before the page fold and not taking any ads into account). Another curious stat? The 1st result will get clicked on over 53% of the time. Impressive, huh?

So, what exactly is SEO?

SEO helps search engines (think Google, Yahoo, Bing) determine what a site is all about. It defines the rank any website gets when competing with other sites and, those who use the available techniques the best, receive the benefit of visibility and quality traffic. Keep in mind, although each search engine has its own top secret algorithm that changes constantly, the concepts below apply to them all.

What are the ranking factors?

In order to list the sites by relevance, search engines use ranking factors to establish their preferred sites. These determine which site is displayed before the rest. And no page will rank high if it doesn’t have several SEO techniques in place. Sure, the content might be amazing, but if it hasn’t been updated in ages chances are it’ll be at the bottom of the list.

Onsite
Onsite are those that happen on the site itself and can therefore be controlled entirely.
  • Ensuring the proper keywords are employed.
  • Updating the site regularly with relevant content.
  • Adding new pages with the targeted keywords.
  • Adding internal links (within the site itself).
  • Optimising the HTML code.
  • Removing barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

Offsite
Offsite are those that are not directly related to the site and thus are outside the websites admin’s control.

  • Working to create backlinks from other established and relevant sites.
  • Building social media profiles.
  • Optimising video posts.
  • Posting answers on Q&A forums.
  • Commenting on related sites and blogs.

Commonly used techniques in detail

Keywords are the key
For any page to rank, the right keywords must be used in the content and HTML. This is how search engines can deliver web traffic to suitable pages. And we are not just talking quantity but, more importantly, quality.

Content is king
What boosts page ranking?
Having quality content,
using the right keywords,
 adding more pages,
 optimising your HTML code,
getting backlinks and being
an active member of
social media sites.
Although it might sound obvious, the SEO foundation is good and relevant content. If all other factors are in place but people are not interested in the shared content, all efforts are in vain. By producing quality content and adding real value, people are inclined to remain on pages and not jump to other sites. This is what makes a site useful and unique.
Fresh content
Content is crucial but keeping it updated is just as important. Search engines can pick up any changes made to a website. So, if these changes are frequent, involve the creation of new pages or impact important areas of the site, these are likely to improve site visibility.
HTML code optimisation
Search engines read the underlying HTML code on all websites to determine the site structure . Although this is not an extensive list, here are some of them:
  • Title tag: Descriptive page titles are search engine favorites, specially if they are heavily related to the content of the page and the keywords.
  • Header tags: When content has the right structure it is most likely to be picked up by a search engine. This is where headers (h1, h2, etc.) come in place. This helps search engines understand the key sections of a web page.
  • Image alt attribute: Search engines can’t see images as we do, so the words used within this attribute should be text equivalent of what the image is trying to convey.
Breadcrumbs
Sure, breadcrumbs allow users to navigate the site easily, but they also help search engines to determine the structure of a site.
XML sitemaps
These sitemaps provide the URLs of the pages the make the structure of the site. These are favourites among search engines since they are a standard machine readable format.
Short page links
Most pages use friendly URLs not only to appeal to users but also because of SEO. Search engines are more likely to go for pages with shorter and descriptive URLs over other relevant results with longer and less descriptive links.
Backlinks
Important people are measured by the amount of people who look up to them, right? Well, search engines apply this concept by counting the links to a website from other sites to establish the trustworthiness of it. Yet, not all links are counted equally. If a backlink comes from a respected site then it’s considered better and thus gives more points to the website getting that link back.
Social media

Just as it happens with links, getting shares in social media sites improves SEO. This is why any site should consider having a Facebook page, a Twitter account, a LinkedIn profile or even better, all of them. And just as I mentioned before, freshness matters. It’s not just setting up a profile, it’s the interaction with others that improve visibility.

Started with iMacros

iMacros Quick Tutorial

I'll copy and post it here in case anyone else was wondering how to get started with iMacros.

First, install the free Firefox iMacros addon
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...s-for-firefox/

Alright so after you install iMacros there's a button on the top left of firefox that opens the iMacros sidebar. Do a search on tumblr for something relevant to your blog (boobs, tits etc) and leave that page open. I'll guide you through running the simplest script, the auto-liker, then from there you should be able to get the other ones working. PM me or post here if you need help with any of it.

So now your screen should look something like this
http://imgur.com/NtDHwlP

Some quick iMacros basics
It comes with a few demo scripts. There's a record button which codes macros for you by turning your clicks and keystrokes into code. When you record a macro, it's saved as #Current.iim.

Once you have a macro, you can highlight it and click Play to run it once, or Play (Loop) to run it the number of times you type in Max.

The auto liker part
If you don't have a #Current.iim, go to Rec and hit Record, then hit stop. Now you have a #Current.iim listed. Right click it and hit Edit. Now delete the code that's there, and replace it with this
Code:
VERSION BUILD=7401110 RECORDER=FX

'Likes x posts on page where x is number of loops

SET !REPLAYSPEED fast

TAB T=1

TAG POS={{!LOOP}} TYPE=A ATTR=ID:like_button_*

SET !TIMEOUT_STEP 10
SET !ERRORIGNORE YES

hit save, then right click it again and name it something like #Liker.iim.
Now it's all set up, just go back to the tumblr search page and highlight Liker.iim on the sidebar, then set Max to a high number like 100. Press Play (Loop) and you should see it quickly hit the like button and scroll down until it likes 100 posts.

Automating "Image Twist, PlugRush and JuicyAds"

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

The Basics "Starting Image Twist"

The API v1 seems to have been shut down by Tumblr. If you were using Tier's queue manager it will not perform anymore. Maintain an eye on this blog for updates.

This tutorial will help you set up a tumblr blog with NSFW images (i.e. porn). Every time someone clicks on one of these images, you get paid. The payout rate is about $3 / 1000 clicks. Due to the social nature of Tumblr, this means you can make some great profit. Later in the guide you'll also learn exactly how to automate the submitting of images and scrape them coming from image sites like Reddit.

Step 1

Register for Image Twist
Referral Link: Image Twist
Non-referral Link: www.imagetwist.com

Its up to you if you want to sign up under me or not.

We Pay Up to $2.60 For Each 1000 Image Views.
Minimum Payment only
$1.00. sent to PayPal or AlertPay

Step 2

Create a tumblr blog
www.tumblr.com
TIPS:
Use a avatar that will catch people's attention, a great pair of boobs will do great lol
Create a catchy title with good keywords in it like boobs, nsfw, orgasm, porn, and so on.
Use a good theme for a picture gallery with thumbnails. Try choose pick your own theme, but if you get stuck here's a good one I used
http://www.tumblr.com/theme/9715

*NEW* If you're decent with HTML, I'll put this link here for reference. It explains working with the Tumblr code to help customize your themehttp://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/custom_themes/
I also modified a bit on the official theme I linked to perform better with this kind of method, it's hosted here if you're interested.
http://howfemalesorgasm.com/nsfwtheme.html
It's "SEO Optimized", and keeps your images small so people have to click it unless they want to squintfap.
Just go to tumblr, customize, edit HTML and copy/paste it in there.
Do Ctrl+F and type "Step 1" and do what it says. Repeat this for all 5 steps to get started the easy way.

@iz0mbie has created a Tumblr theme that he's sharing for free too if you want to check it out
iz0mbie's theme

Step 3

Find and post some good adult pics
I'm sure we all know how to find porn, but one easy site I use is www.reddit.com/r/gonewildThere are plenty of good subreddits like r/boobs r/nsfw r/amateur r/nsfw_gifs just look around
*Note: Scientific studies have proven that women with larger breasts tend to get more clicks
Copy the image location and go to Image Twist and upload it
You will get a list of view links or one if it's a single image. An example ishttp://imagetwist.com/j2ak71z0zklc/X7yW8.jpg.html
Go to that URL, and open up a new tab and make a new Tumblr photo post
For the image URL, right click the imagetwist pic and hit copy image location. This will be a .jpg URL
Paste this in the new tumblr photo post by clicking Use URL Instead
Then at the bottom enable Set a Clickthrough Link, and link it to the view link from ImageTwist (ends in .jpg.html, should be open in your first tab)
Now tag it with relevant tags and add a quick description if you want
When a user clicks your thumbnail, they will be taken to the imagetwist link and you get paid
*Good tags are important, they help your posts show up in searches

4) Gain followers
Like a lot of posts, reblog posts (set a clickthrough to your tumblr URL), follow people, and create good tags. Your followers will start to add up and you'll get more traffic. The beginning followers are the hardest to get, then eventually your followers do the work for you and gain you new followers by reblogging...if that makes sense.

5) **NEW**
Earn more traffic and earnings!
If you're tired of signing up for random sites, I apologize. I suggest one more although it isn't entirely necessary: PlugRush
Referral Link: http://www.plugrush.com/?ref=0000
Non-Referral Link: http://www.plugrush.com

They let you sell ads, use the clicks as a traffic exchange, or a combination of both. I choose to sell the plug clicks. The widgets you create and put on your page look like little galleries, and each click earns you return clicks. The exchange rate is very generous, and they will send you hundreds of clicks to start off with before you even start earning any.

A final note about PlugRush: Their mobile code has a better rate than JuicyAds. The only con to PlugRush is they make you wait 30 days after you earn to cash out those earnings, whereas JuicyAds only makes you wait 7 days. If you're deciding between JuicyAds and PlugRush, PlugRush is more cash later, and JuicyAds is less cash sooner.

Here's a quick guide on getting Plugrush set up if you need help:

Plugrush
Here's a basic guide of getting started

  *1

Create a Widget and Mobile Redirect Script for more earnings. First, add your website(s) then go to the Adzones tab. Create the widgets for the sites, they end up looking like galleries with thumbnails. Under the "Sell Traffic" option when making the widget, make sure the bottom 2 are checked. The top 2 are up to you. If you check them, you'll be selling some of the traffic which gives you $$ instead of views in return, but it doesn't sell all of it so you get some views back. If you do not check it, 100% of the clicks are exchange so every time someone clicks you get a few clicks back. Usually they send 5-10 clicks in return for one which is a great deal.

Also be sure to make a mobile redirect widget.

  *2

Create Plugs Under Publisher's Area -> Plugs. They show up in other people's galleries and are basically like little ads. You only need 1 plug per website but you can submit additional plugs. Submit the post URL and a title/description and categories. It takes a little while (1 day at most) to be approved, so you won't see any traffic until they're approved and the widget it setup on your site.
Misc info - The stats on PlugRush are delayed by a day. If everything is set up and you're not seeing any earnings or traffic, wait a day and check back.
Also, the $0.00 icon in the top right with the moneybag doesn't reflect your pending earnings. To see how much you earned so far, go to the Publisher tab, then Earnings. Again these stats are 24 hours delayed. I didn't realize that at first and thought Plugrush was a bullshit site (it's not)

**UPDATE**
I've been posting on reddit and getting huge traffic boosts. Tumblr will get you long term passive views, Reddit will get you short bursts of instant traffic. A balance of the two is a good plan for success. You're not limited to Reddit either, post on forums, get creative, and advertise your tumblr.

My subreddits and other TBN member created subreddits (we all allow Tumblr links http://thebotnet.com/images/smilies/smile1.gif)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://reddit.com/r/orgasmpics
http://reddit.com/r/teenboobies
http://www.reddit.com/r/hotsexyasses
http://www.reddit.com/r/AmateurTeens
http://www.reddit.com/r/moretits
http://www.reddit.com/r/porn_gifs
http://www.reddit.com/r/lovetoorgasm
http://reddit.com/r/xxxpics

Step 6

Create SEO friendly Titles (this helps get you on Google search)
Note - if you used This SEO optimized theme from before, this is already done for you

Customize your blog and go to edit HTML. Find the title section which will look something like
Code:
<title>{Title} </title>
Edit that line to this
Code:
<title>{block:PostSummary}{PostSummary} - {/block:PostSummary}{Title}</title>
This helps your pages have unique titles and get indexed on Google. By default, all page titles are the title of your blog.

Now right below that add the following meta information:
Code:

 <meta name="description" content="{block:PostSummary}{PostSummary} - {/block:PostSummary}{Title} - {Description}" /> <meta name="title" content="{block:PostSummary}{PostSummary} - {/block:PostSummary}{Title}" />

<meta name="keywords" content="{block:Permalink}{block:Posts}{block:Tags}{Tag}, {/block:Tags}{/block:Posts}{/block:Permalink}" />

This helps add relevant information when you appear on Google Results. Most tumblr themes do not include this...when's the last time you did a google search and saw a link to a tumblr blog? This is why.

If you don't mind doing things manually, that's about all you need to know. Keep creating posts and earn money
